A desperate call

M K StalinChennai: Former Deputy Chief Minister and DMK treasurer M K Stalin has nearly begged the party workers to work hard and ensure the victory of former Transport Minister K N Nehru in the 13 October by-election to the Tiruchirapalli West Assembly Constituency.

Nehru, who lost to Mariam Pitchai of AIADMK by over 7000 votes in the recent assembly elections, was now contesting as official nominee of the DMK in the 13 October by-election caused due to the demise of Mariam Pitchai who was killed in an road accident within a few days after gaining a Cabinet berth in the Tamilnadu Ministry under the leadership of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

Stalin also called upon the party workers to think of each and every volunteer of the DMK as candidate for by-election.Since the official nominee, Nehru, was arrested and lodged in the prison in connection with land grabbing cases.He said the DMK was in a compulsion to win the by-election and urged the partymen to work for the victory of Nehru.
