Amar Singh in AIIMS, Is this a blessing in disguise?

Amar Singh cash for vote scamNew Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP and former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh was admitted and retained in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital Delhi last night, even as the court is to decide whether Amar Singh should be granted bail on medical grounds today.

The MP who was languishing in Tihar jail was rushed to hospital after a health check-up that revealed that his creatinine levels had risen. “Since his creatinine level was high, we decided to shift him to AIIMS,” Tihar Jail spokesman, Sunil Gupta said. Dr S Gupta, head of the Nephrology Department of AIIMS who is treating Amar Singh said, “Abnormally high levels of creatinine could indicate possible malfunction or even failure of the kidneys.” Singh was admitted in a private ward of the hospital at around 8pm.

Rajya Sabha member and former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh was admitted to the (AIIMS) by Tihar Jail authorities for a kidney-related problem on Monday evening. Amar Singh is a diabetic and also claims to be suffering from a urinary tract infection. Rajya Sabha MP and former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh had been arrested and sent to 13-day judicial custody at the Tihar Jail, with regard to his alleged involvement in the cash-for-vote scam. Along with Amar Sing the other two accused, Faggan Singh Kulaste and Mahavir Singh Bhagora had also been arrested and sent to judicial custody till September 19.

Delhi court was to decide whether he should be granted bail on medical grounds today. The court will make public its decision on Amar Singh’s bail plea today. The current medical situation could turn into an advantage and be a blessing in disguise for the former MP.
