Arvind Kejriwal was attacked in Varanasi

Varanasi: Ink was thrown at Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal allegedly by Bharatiya Janata Party workers in Varanasi, when he arrived here to kick start his election campaign against Narendra Modi.

Kejriwal was in Varanasi to attend a political rally in which he was to announce his candidature against Narendra Modi.

The incident occurred in the evening while a roadshow led by Kejrival and other AAP leaders was passing through Varanasi. Manish Sisodia and other party leaders who were in the vehicle along with Kejriwal was also stained by the ink.

On his arrival in Varanasi, protesting BJP workers had thrown eggs at Kejriwal’s car.

Before embarking on his political roadshow, Kejriwal had taken a dip in the Ganga along with his party workers earlier in morning .

BJP had given the Varanasi seat to Narendra Modi after senior leader and its sitting MP Murli Manohar Joshi, was made to vacate his seat in favour of Modi. The Party aims to reap political dividends in Uttar Pradesh by Modi’s candidature.

Kejriwal had announced earlier that he would contest against Modi from Varanasi.
