Babu Paul report on 10th std textbook controversy

Thiruvananthapuram: Babu Paul committee has asked the government to remove the portion related to KCBC  from the 10th std History text books as the matter is considered to be defamatory. The government has asked the students to download the new portion from the website.

KCBC complained that the rise of modern age chapter in the social science text book to be painting a negetive image of the Sabha. Based on the complaint the government had appointed the Babu Paul committee to look into the matter.

Historian K Paniker however stated that schools and colleges in Kerala have been studying about the European Catholic Sabha for the past several years and this removal of chapter was unwarranted for.

The chapter discusses the 15th century developments in Europe, the corruption of the feudal lords and the Pope, mis-governance and the like.
