CBI raids Hindi prachara sabha Kochi: CBI conducted raid at Dakshin Bharath Hindi Prachara Sabha, Kochi branch, based on a tip off received by them claiming that there was large scale  misappropriation of funds being conducted at the the Sabha. The raid was conducted by a 7 member CBI team. The team that began its raid in the morning checked all official documents and studied various cheques issued by the Sabha. The investigation team has uncovered a 35 lakh misappropriation conducted in the PF fund. The money collected to be deposited in the PF fund was not being remitted in the PF but being used for personal benefits.

Besides this the Prachara Sabha honoured Amjith, from Aluwa, who is listed in the Goonda list. Amjith has been accused for kidnapping a Director and exhorting 30 lakhs ransom from him. Amjith is presently languishing in jail. After inspecting the documents the CBI officers have recieved considerable proof that throws light upon the fact that the Hindi Prachara Sabha have been involved in several land scams too.

‘Hindi Prachar Sabha’ was a movement that emerged as part of Freedom Movement and the leaders who led the nation to ‘FREE INDIA’ felt the necessity of making a single Indian Language the National Language, and through that language unify the people and thereby intensify National Integration. The sabha functions as a society and is funded by the Centre. The total assets of the Sabha would amount to 100 crores. Every year the Sabha generates a Rs 9 lakh income.

The CBI investigation is focussed on three main aspects which are financial missapropriation, the Rs 35 lakh corruption involved in the Pf fund and what has happened to the Innova car that was given to the trust. The Innova car is said to be privately owned by some individual. There are allegations that the innova car was used by Amjith earlier.

The trust has not given salary to those working under them for the past6 months. Though the officers have been recieving money from the Central government they have not payed the employees.
