Chinese fighter jet in Indian Navy advertisement

New Delhi: An advertisement released on the occasion of Navy Day has become highly controversial as it featured a Chinese fighter jet instead of an Indian aircraft. The advertisement features a JF 17 jet which was given by China to Pakistan. The advertisement was to showcase the strength of the Indian Navy. The advertisement was titled ‘Guardians of the Sea’. The Indian Navy got embroiled in a controversy on Sunday when in an advertisement released on the occasion of Navy Day (December 4), a Chinese fighter jet was featured instead of an Indian aircraft. There has been no official reaction from the Navy on the issue.

Navy Day that is celebrated on December 5, 2011 commemorates the daring attack by Indian Naval Missile boats on Karachi harbour during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war.
