Citizens charter bill in parliament today

parliamentNew Delhi: The Citizen’s Charter Bill will be introduced in Parliament today, said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal. The bill will spell out a citizen’s charter containing a category of goods and services to be delivered in a time-bound manner and the setting up a public grievance redressal panel.

Once passed, the legislation will be referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee. Team Anna has opposed the  move for a separate Bill to deal with the issues covered under the Citizens’ Charter  as they want the Citizen’s Charter to come under the ambit of Lokpal bill. They do not want a separate law to address public grievance.
