Court to consider Amar Singh’s bail plea tomorrow

amar singhNew Delhi: Delhi court will make public its decision on former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh’s bail plea on Tuesday. The court has ordered him to undergo fresh medical tests to support his claim. Noted lawyer and BJP MP Ram Jethmalani is defending him.

His lawyer argued in court today that the bribe money may have come from the BJP itself.  If LK Advani has admitted that he was the one who gave the go ahead with the operations, and then it is possible that the money came from the BJP, he argued.

Rajya Sabha MP and former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh had been arrested and sent to 13-day judicial custody at the Tihar Jail, with regard for his alleged involvement in the cash-for-vote scam. The Tees Hazari court of Special Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal had rejected Amar Singh’s plea of ill-health and his interim bail application on September 6, 2011.
