Oommen Chandy to face fierce democratic protest

pinarayi vijayanKannur: “Oomman Chandy must resign from the post of Chief Minister” CPIM State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan stated at the CPIM state meet held at Kannur, today. Pinarayi Vijayan believes that, the Chief Minister who claims to honour the court verdict, has  only abdicated the Vigilance portfolio which shall not suffice for it is not the solution for the existing problem. Being in charge of the home portfolio he can controll all state IPS officers. No Chief Minister can head an inquiry against himself. Thus if Ooman Chandy genuinely honours the court verdict and follows legal procedures he must resign from the post of chief minister, Pinarayi said.

Pinarayi Vijayan challenging the chief minister stated that Oommen Chandy would have to face fierce democratic protests. DyFi will organise a protest against the Chief Minister demanding his resignation on August 23, 2011 at Trivandrum and Collectorate march has been organised on the same day at every district in Kerala. After which the CM would have to face intense protest if he continues in the post till he hands over his resignation.

He also stated that the appointment of Tarun Das is totally unacceptable. He criticized that the stand taken by the UDF regarding the Kasargode firing.
