CPIM protest before High Court

Kerala High Court Kochi: CPIM has organized a protest before the Kerala High Court protesting the sentence of senior party leader MV Jayarajan from today morning onwards. He had been sentenced to six months imprisonment for contempt of court. The CPIM leaders have assured that they will neither disrupt court proceedings nor block traffic.  The protest would continue till today evening 5 ‘o clock. City Police commission stated that around 1000 police personals would be deployed near the High Court. Depending on the manner of the protest more police shall be deployed, he added.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has requested the CPIM protestors to retract from their protest. The Kochi City Police Commissioner has prescribed a blue print of the code of conduct to be followed by the protestors which was handed over to Pinarayi Vijayan. MV Govindan Master has assured that the protest shall be peaceful and in accordance with the police notice.
