Dalit youth suicide case: Opposition stages walk out

Opposition stages walk out Thiruvananthapuram: The Opposition party staged a walk out from the Kerala Legislative Assembly when the speaker denied permission for adjournment motion. The Opposition requested for a adjournment motion to discuss the suspicious death of the Dalit youth who committed suicide yesterday night.

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that Sinu’s experience at the Vithura police station triggered his suicide. “There shall be an Inquiry and action would be taken based on the postmortem report,” the CM said.

The Dalit youth, Sinu (26)  is said to have been forlorn and depressed after he was brutally beaten up at the Thiruvananthapuram, Vithura Police station. Sinu hanged himself in his bedroom yesterday night. Sinu was celebrating Deepawali yesterday and was Gleefully bursting crackers. SI Rajesh who passed by his house irrationally yelled at Sinu. When Sinu dared to question the policeman’s action he was dragged to the police station and brutally beaten up.

His relatives stated that he even stated that he would prefer to die. Sinu was found hanging in his room today morning. It is inferred that the disturbed Dalit youth committed suicide yesterday night.
