Idukki rocked again

earthquakeIdukki: Mild tremors were felt yet again in Idukki district of Kerala catalyzing concerns over the safety of the Mullaperiyar dam. Idukki district experienced a series of mild tremors with a magnitude of 2.7 on the Richter scale today at 3.14 am . The tremors were felt at Upputhura, Moolamattom, Valakode, Chapath, Valliyamatom  and Vandiperiyar. A series of reccuring tremors were felt at 3.14, 3.20, 5.30 and 5.55.

The first seismic wave had a magnitude of 2.7, the second was of 2.9 and third tremor was measured to be at 1.9. Tremors were felt even at Kottayam, Poonjar, and Pathanamthitta. No loss of life or destruction of property was reported.
