FDI heldback, parliament to function today

pranabNew Delhi: In the all party meeting held today morning before the parliament convened has ended on a positive note. The logjam has ended and the parliament would function today. Finance Minister stated that the government would suspend all decisions regarding the permission of FDI in retail sector until a consensus is arrived at. The opposition party though unhappy with just a hold back has agreed to permit the Parliament to function today.

It is crucial that the parliament begins functioning. In the next two weeks, it must clear a huge backlog that includes several important Bills. “We hope that Parliament will run smoothly after the all-party meeting”, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said.
