Film Institute to come up in Kannur

Mullapaly Ramachandran Kozhikode: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mullapally Ramachandran said that a Film Institute similar to the renowned Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune is being planned in the state. According to him such an institute was a necessity in a state like Kerala and that  he had already discussed the project with the prominent film personalities like Priyadarshan and Sreenivasan. The institute would most probably come up in Kuthupararamba. He also said that film societies that were once active in the state must be restarted.
