Ice cream case: HC demands police case diary

High-courtKochi: The Kerala High Court while considering the plea filed by Opposition Leader VS Achuthanandan seeking CBI probe into ice cream palour case has directed the police to submit the case diary. The Court has postponed the hearing to September22, 2011.Former Delhi Chief  Justice Ravindra Sachar appeared in court on behalf of VS Achuthanadan. Opposition Leader VS Achuthanandan had filed a plea in Kerala High Court demanding CBI enquiry into the sensational ice cream case on September 2, 2011.

VS Achuthanandan had approached the High Court on the basis of the claims by a relative of  the minister PK Kunhalikutty that he had tried to influence witnesses in the ice cream parlour sex scandal.  VS claimed in his plea that the current enquiry team inquiring into the ice cream palour sex scandal team was not conducting its work efficiently and had made no significant progress. According to Achuthanandan, during the past seven months, no investigation was done in the case registered on the basis of statements by KA Rauf.

The special enquiry team was appointed by the former LDF ministry. VS states that, the progress in the case has slowed down after the change in ministry. The plea was submitted by Adv. Anil Kumar on behalf of VS Achuthanandan. Till date no action has been taken against Minister Kunhalikutty who is the primary accused.
