Indrans to act in ‘Nanban’

IndransKochi: If it were Kalabhavan Mani and Cochin Haneefa who represented Mollywood in director Shankar’s last release Endhiran, this time it’s Indrans who won the ticket to the director’s much hyped release Nanban.

“Not that mine is a meaty role, but I feel proud to be associated with such an acclaimed director and his team,” says Indrans, who plays an assistant to the professor played by Sathyaraj. The film also happens to be his first film outside Mollywood. Although the actor has been doing his usual share of comic roles in Malayalam, Indrans is looking forward to the release of his film, which offers him a bigger platform.

“As in the Malayalam industry, the stars are so down-to-earth. Vijay, Sreekanth and Jiiva were all very friendly and we had a good time on the sets.” He is all praise for the director, too. “Shankar is not a bossy director, but he knows how to get the best out of every actor in his film. I was tensed working with a man of his stature, but he was totally chilled out and made everyone feel at ease.”

Indrans just finished dubbing for his portions in the film. “This is the first time I’m dubbing in Tamil. Thanks to everybody’s help, things have shaped up well.” And he sure is looking forward to the film’s release. “I’m as excited as a newcomer!” Meanwhile, his upcoming Malayalam releases include Rajasenan’s Innaana Kalyanam and M S Manu’s Sandwich.
