Infrastructure boom in Chennai

jayalalithaChennai: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today inaugurated a slew of infrastructure and welfare projects in and around Chennai through video conferencing. She inaugurated the Rangarajapuram flyover which was constructed by the Corporation and Indian Railways with an investment of Rs 24.18 crore.

This bridge would ease traffic congestion between Kodambakkam and T Nagar. She also inaugurated a 24×7 Corporation maternity centre at Saidapet with an investment of Rs 3.93 crore. The Chief Minister inaugurated parks at various parts of the city at an investment of Rs 1.32 crore.

She also launched gyms at Triplicane, MR Nagar and Samayapuram Koil Street. A badminton court at MR Nagar, and a Cricket net practice facility at Greams Road with an investment of Rs 80.71 lakh were also inaugurated.The Chief Minister launched a commercial complex at Parthasarathy Nagar, auditoriums, multipurpouse building at RR Nagar and mid-day meal centres at Mandeveli, with a total investment of Rs 8.36 crores.

Jayalalithaa also inaugurated a government office complex ‘Bharath Ratna Dr MGR Maligai’ at Ullagaram in Kanchipuram district. This building was constructed with an investment of Rs 85 lakh in a total built -up area of 7040 square feet. This building has new office rooms, conference halls and waiting rooms for the public.
