ISI chief asks Musharraf to stay back

musharrafIslamabad: ISI chief Lt Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha is said to have asked former president Pervez Musharraf to remain in Dubai and to not return to him homeland. The Pakistan Senate had yesterday, unanimously passed a resolution demanding the arrest of the former President Pervez Musharraf on his return to the country. The Senate had also demanded that a case be registered against Musharraf under article 6 of the Pakistani constitution.

The spokesperson for Musharraf’s All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) said that Mr Musharraf had postponed his arrival in view of the “emerging political developments”. He had earlier announced that he would return to Pakistan between Jan 27 and 30 to lead his party in the next general elections to be held in 2013.
