Journalist alleged to be part of Israeli embassy bomb blast

israel-embassy-blastNew Delhi: The Delhi Police has arrested a 50-year-old man, who is claimed to be a freelance journalist, writing for an Iranian publication. He is alleged to have played a role in conspiring to bomb the Israeli embassy’s vehicle last month.

Official sources said, the accused, Syed Mohammed Kazmi, was picked up after a probe showed that he had been in touch with the suspect who is believed to have stuck the magnetic bomb on Israeli diplomat Tal Yehoshua’s car on February 13.

Police Commissioner B K Gupta, however has not disclosed much information regarding the arrest. Mr Kazmi is alleged to have helped the suspect in conducting a recee of the Israeli Embassy to keep a tab on the arrival and departure of diplomats, the sources said. Israeli diplomat Tal Yehoshua and an Indian driver of the embassy vehicle, were among four people injured in the blast after a magnetic bomb stuck to the vehicle went off.
