Kerala assembly adjourned, ruckus on Pillai’s phone call

Kerala legislative assemblyThiruvananthapuram: The opposition party demanded a CBI enquiry into the brutal attack of a school teacher by a gang of unidentified criminals. Opposition leader Mullakara Radhakrishnan raised the issue in assembly today and submitted a notice for an emergency resolution.

The gruesome attack on Krishnakumar a teacher at RVVHS School at Valakam in Kollam district has snowballed into a huge political controversy with protests and agitation being raised at several places demanding an immediate action and investigation into the issue.

The Opposition also held a sit in protest demanding an immediate statement from the Government regarding jailed Balakrishnan Pilla’s  telephone conversation with Reporter Channel. Pillai in his conversation stated that he had nothing to do with the attack.

Kerala Congress(B)leader Balakrishnan Pilla who is also the manager of the school is alleged to have engineered the assault. Questions are being raised as to how Balakrishnan Pillai who is a undergoing one year imprisonment for his involvement in the Idamalayar corruption case broke the law and had a conversation with the media using his own private mobile phone. Following the ruckus in the assembly the speaker adjourned the assembly for the day.

The gruesome, inhuman, barbaric attack on the teacher has sent shock waves through the state. The teachers  genitals were mutilated and a thick iron rod, used for coconut-husking, had been thrust up the excretory canal. Doctors at the medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram, where Krishna Kumar underwent four-hour major surgeries, said his hip bone had fractures at three regions and that his internal organs including the rectum and small intestine had been ruptured. His testicles had been badly pounded and the excretory canal had been torn severely. The teacher is said to be recovering from the trauma at the post-surgical critical care ward.
