Kerala Assembly proceedings stalled

kerala-legislative-assemblyThiruvananthapuram: Members of the Opposition stalled the Kerala Assembly proceedings as they were denied the permission to move a notice for an adjournment motion in connection with the palmolein case. Deputy leader of Opposition Kodiyeri Balakrishnan moved the adjournment motion. He accused the CM of attempting to sabotage the Palmolein case. The government has pressurized the judge, he alleged. The opposition also demanded PC George’s resignation alleging that he had threatened the Vigilance judge PK Haneefa who had ordered further investigation into the palmolein case.

“Oomen Chandy is the Gangothri of all corruption,” said Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.Oomen Chandy retorted by declaring that his government was very well aware of the powers and position of Judiciary. Due honour is being given to it. The Opposition members rushed to the well of the House raising slogans against government Chief Whip PC George. A sit in protest was also organized.
