regional science centerKozhikode: The Spandanam scheme drafted by the Kerala Sustainable Urban Development Project (KSUDP), which is financed by The Asian Development Bank, will be extended to schools in the city. The project implemented using financial assistance of the Poverty Social Fund, has been completed in four schools.  More than 600 students have benefited from the scheme.

The scheme gives an opportunity to students in classes VII, VIII and IX to visit Regional Science Center (RSC) for a day. The selected students are mostly living in slum areas.  The students as well as their teaches interacted with scientific officers at the RSC, visited the life science gallery, theaters, science park, hall of magic mirrors, and viewed other activities.
