Kochi Metro to run without wheels

Kochi metro rail project Kochi: Advanced Korean technology will be employed in the fulfillment of the Kochi Metro Rail  project. The Kochi Metro Rail project is under the responsibility of the Delhi Metro rail coorportation. The DMRC director, E Sreedharan informed the media that Korean technology would be used in the Kochi metro project.  They are considering metro trains that shall not travell on wheels. Instead magnetic technology would be employed.

There shall be a 20 percent reduction in production cost and 25 reduction in project cost, according to sources. A final decision shall be taken once the Chief Minister meets E Sreedharan at New Delhi. Primary talks with Korea’s Incheon Metro have been completed. “Top officials associated with Kochi Metro Rail had been to Korea yesterday,” Sreedharan said. ” After I retire as Delhi Metro Chairman I have no qualms in taking up the responsibility of the Kochi metro rail project,” He added.
