Chandy must resign and face judicial inquiry: Kodiyeri

kodiyeri balakrishnanThiruvanathapuram: The Chief Minister Oommen Chandy must resign and face judicial inquiry, stated Opposition deputy leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan at a press conference held here today after the adjournment of the assembly. He was speaking in the wake of the allegations that were raised against the Chief Minister accusing him of having telephonic conversations with the jailed Balakrishnan Pillai.

According to Kodiyeri,”a Delhi based law student had filed a complaint regarding a telephone conversation between Chief Minister Oomen Chandy and jailed Balakrishnan Pillai. No action has been taken yet regarding this telephone conversation that was held on August 9, 2011. Minister Ganesh Kumar has broken all laws to save his father. Ganesh Kumars’s private secretary, Manoj is acting as Pillai’s helper. There has been grave breach of law when it comes to Pilla’s case. The party is being partial towards members of their own party.”

“Instead of admitting Pillai into a well equipped government hospital he was admitted in a 5 star private hospital. The rules to be followed before admitting a prisoner to a hospital has not been followed in his case. Till date no prisoner from Kerala has been admitted to a private hospital. All rules are being broken and flexed only because Balakrishnan Pillai is a prominent leader of the UDF,” he said.

“I had submitted an application for adjournment motion to discuss Balakrishnan Pillai’s conversation with Chief Minister, Chief Whip and son Ganesh Kumar. A discussion regarding his interference in the legislative process was to be discussed which was not permitted. The government is also trying to threaten the media that is trying to bring the truth out in the open. If the government intends to imprison all those who called Balakrishnan Pillai, the Chief Whip would be the first to be arrested. The government should give a reward of 5000 rupees to the reporter who fought against corruption,” he added.

“The chief whip and Ganesh Kumar has no right to continue in service. They must resign. Corruption free and transparent government which they claimed to achieve is all a lies. The case regarding the brutal attack on the teacher must be handed over to the CBI,” he stated.
