Kollywood has great potential: Sameera Reddy

sameera-reddyChennai: Sameera Reddy, who started her career with Varanam Ayiram in Tamil, had an average outing in Aasal and Nadunisi Naaigal. She is confident that Vedi releasing this weekend will make amends. Says the actress to a vernacular daily, ‘I play a chirpy girl in Vedi opposite Vishal. It was my desire to work with director Prabhudeva and when I was approached to do Vedi, I had no second thoughts in accepting it’.  In a commercial film, a heroine is generally lost, However in Vedi , I have more scope to perform and appear all through the movie, she states.

The Varanam Ayiram girl has her hands full. She is doing Lingusamy’s Vettai besides a Hindi movie Theja Fry with Ajay Devgan, directed by Priyadharshan. On her experience shooting for Vettai, she says, ‘it is a cool entertainer and Lingusamy rocks all the time. I play a bubbly village girl and appears in traditional costumes throughout the film. I get to ride motorcycle in the film. There is Madhavan, Arya and Amala Paul in lead roles.’

‘Tamil industry has got good talents and it gives me great joy to work here’, she adds. The actress, who shares a good rapport with Gautham Vasudev Menon states that she would be doing a film early next year with him. Queried whether it is Yohan Athiyayam Ondru which Goutham is planning with Vijay, she is tight-lipped. I have been shooting round-the-clock for almost a year. I am planning to take a brief break before I plan to commence my next film, she concludes.
