Kunjalikutty, Aryadan faces vigilance enquiry

Kozhikode:  Industries Minister PK Kunhalikutty and Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed, faced vigilance probe, for amassing  wealth disproportionate to their sources of income.Vigilance enquiry is based on a complaint lodged by National Secular Conference leader NK Abdul Aziz.

N K Abdul Aziz in his complaint has stated that Kunnjalikutty has ammased wealth in the name of his wife, relatives and several other third parties. Kunjalikutty is said to have unauthorised land in 5 places including Trivandrum and crores of money invested in iron ore business in Quatar.

Aryadan is said to have ammased illegal land while he was the Power Minster. The same complaint has been lodged against former minister Cherkulam Abdulla who is believed to have invested unauthorized wealth in Kasargode educational institutions. Probe has also been launched against Muslim league General Secretary, E T Mohammed Basheer.

Vigilance officials have  started collecting primary evidence. As per the notice sent to Abdual Azeez, he would have to appear before vigilance for enquiry on August 17, 2011. DySP N K Prakash who is in charge of the Calicut vigilance cell is to lead the enquiry team.  Former Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan had given directions to commence the enquiry on the complaint which was given by N K Abdul Azeez to vigilance two years back.
