Lavlin case: Pinarayi to appear before court

pinarayiThiruvananthapuram: The CBI submitted the further investigation report of the SNC Lavlin case before the CBI special court today. As per the report there was no evidence to prove that Pinarayi Vijayan- the seventh accused in the case conducted any misappropriation of funds in relation to the given case. The report also states that no evidence could be found against former Power Minister of Kerala and Congress leader G Karthikeyan.

After verifying the reports the CBI court has asked Pinarayi Vijayan and seven other accused to appear before court. The Court also directed to issue a warrant against company’s former senior vice president Claus Trendel, the sixth accused in the case. According to the court Claus is the brain behind the scam. Summons has been issued to Lavlin company. The accused have been asked to appear in person before court on April 10, 2012. Lavalin case resulted in an alleged net loss to the exchequer of 374.50 crore.
