Lok Sabha adjourned: Telengana issue

lokh-sabhaNew Delhi: The Lok Sabha has been adjourned till 12 pm after the members of the house created a  ruckus over Telangana issue and a host of other issues. As soon as the House assembled for the day, members from the ruling Congress from the Telangana region rushed to the well of the House shouting slogans for the creation of a separate Telangana state. Members from the Telangana Rashtriya Samiti, TRS also joined them demanding the introduction of a Telangana Bill in Parliament.

After repeated requests from the Speaker Mrs Meira Kumar , the TRS members returned to their seats. However, members from the ruling Congress refused to heed to the repeated requests and remained in the well of the house shouting slogans. Sushma Swaraj, speaking on Behalf of her party made the stand of the BJP clear to the House. She said that the BJP was in favour of a separate Telengana state. The Speaker finally was forced to adjourn the House for an hour.

Yesterday also both houses of Parliament were adjourned after disruptions. One house was disrupted over the demand for a separate state of Telangana and the other over the army chief’s allegation that he had been offered a bribe to clear a tranche of 600 substandard vehicles.
