Maken fights a lonely battle

BCCINew Delhi: Former IPL chief extending complete support to the BCCI rejected the National Sport Development Bill which was introduced in parliament by the Sports minister Ajay Maken. The fight over controlling cricket bodies in India intensifies as the days pass. Modi said,” the government interference was unwarranted.”

The proposed National Sports Bill was sent back for redrafting by the Union Cabinet. Sports Minister Ajay Maken hit out at the BCCI saying that the Indian Cricket Board needs to be more accountable in its functioning. The bill intends to make the sport bodies more transparent and efficient. It is an attempt to bring the BCCI under RTI.
