malappuram-hooch tragedy Malappuram: The interim report on Malappuram hooch tragedy was submitted before the chief minister today. According to Justice M Rajendran Nair commission report negligence on the part of investigative officers were evident. The commission also informed that the possibilities of sabotage cannot be ruled out in the incident. The report on the 2010 Malappuram hooch tragedy, that claimed the lives of 26 people in Vandoor and Kuttippuram areas was submitted today morning at 8 o clock.

According to the report there has been mistakes on the part of the Excise Officer. Two Excise officers have been suspended from service n connection with the hooch tragedy in Vandoor and Kuttippuram areas. Malappuram excise Deputy commissioner and Kuttippuram Assistant excise inspector have been suspended. It has also been stated that matters shall become clear only after further interrogation and investigation. In the report they have confirmed that spurious liqour laced with methanol has been the cause of the death.
