MK Sanu awarded Kendra Sahithya Akademy Award

MK Sanu Kochi: Veteran Literary critic MK Sanu has been awarded the Kendra Sahithya Akademy Award for his biographical book “Basheer: Ekantha Veedhiyile Avadhoothan’. An official announcement of the same shall be made today evening in the Akademy headquarters. The award comprises of one lakh rupee, citation and statue.

MK Sanu born at Aleppey in 1929 is a renowned critic and biographical writer. He completed his master in arts at Thiruvananthapuram University College with first rank. He taught at Kollam Sri Narayana College and Eranakulam Maharajas College.

He is known for penning down the life of some of the most famous personalities such as Sri Narayana guru, Sahodaran ayyappan and PK Balakrishnan. He briefly wrote about the personal life and poetical life of Changambuzha Krishna Pillai named ‘Changambuzha Krishna Pillai: Nakshathrangalude Sneha Bhajanam’.

‘Sahodaran ayyappan’, ‘Asthamikkatha Velicham’, ‘Thazhvarayile Sandhya’, ‘Mrithyunjayam Kavya Jeevitham’ are some of the biographical books. ‘Prabhatha dharshanam’, ‘Rajaveedhi’, ‘Sahithyachintha’, ‘Avadharanam’, ‘Anubhothiyude Nirangal’ are his critical works.
