MOH Farook sworn as Kerala Governor

moh-farookh governor of keralaThiruvananthapuram: Former Puducherry Chief Minister, MOH Farook took charge as Kerala’s new Governor, here, today. MOH Farook was sworn-in as new the Governor of Kerala on Thursday. The ceremony began with the reading of the President, Prathibha Patil’s message.

He was administered oath of office by Chief Justice of Kerala High Court Justice J Chalameswar at the ceremony held at Raj Bhavan.  MOH Farook who succeeds RS Gavai as the Kerala Governor is Kerala’s 19th Governor. Kerala Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy and other prominent leaders were present at the function.

Born on September 6, 1937, Mr Farook served as the Speaker of Puducherry Legislative assembly for two terms, from 1964 to 1967 and as the Chief Minister of Puducherry for three terms, from 1967-68, 1969-1974 and 1985 to 1990. He was the Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia from September 2004 to December 2009. He was elected to the 10th, 11th and 13th Lok Sabha.
