Mullaperiyar: All party committee reaches Delhi

kerala-ministersThiruvananthapuram: An all party group from Kerala will meet the Prime Minister today to discuss the Mullaperiyar issue and will push for an immediate resolution of the problem. 23 member team under the leadership of the Chief Minister Oommen Chandy have reached Delhi. They will request the Centre to study the probability of future earthquakes and its impact on the dam and shall also request the PM to permit the reduction of the water level to 120 feet at the earliest.

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Opposition leader VS Achuthananthan, CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala, PK Kunhalikutty, KM Mani, PJ Joseph,  Shibu Baby John, ET Muhammed Basheer, Koodiyeri Balakrishnan, C Diwakaran, Mathew Thomas, AC Shanmughadas, Vargeese George, R Balakrishnan Pillai, Jhonny Nellore, AN Radhakrishnan, AN Rajan Babu, KR Aravindakshan, Ramachandran Kadannapally, PC Thomas were among those who have visited Delhi.

The ministers shall meet the Prime Minister at 12pm today. The meeting was felt to be essential in the wake of multiple earthquakes in the area of the Dam.
