Mumbai airport warned of terrorist attack

mumbai-airportMumbai: The security at the Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji airport has been put on high alert in view of an alert sent by central agencies. As per the threat alert the airport would be attacked by terrorists arriving in small hired aircraft’s. Unwilling to take any chance, the Mumbai Police has beefed up the security at the airport following last week’s bomb blast outside the Delhi High Court.

All precautionary measures are being taken in view of the threat perception ahead of the third anniversary of September 13, 2008 blasts that claimed over 20 lives. Airport authorities said CISF personnel and city police have beefed up the security at the airport. Security has also been tightened at Juhu airport, which is primarily for helicopter operations and small aircraft operations. An alert has also been sounded in New Delhi.
