Mullaperiyar: No action taken against AG

oommen-chandyThiruvananthapuram: The cabinet has decided to not take any action against Advocate General Dandapani who submitted a controversial affidavit on the Mullaperiyar issue at the High Court. The cabinet accepted the clarifications made before it by the AG.

The government has decided to submitt a new affidavit in Kerala High Court on the matter. A four member sub committee would be appointed for this purpose. Ministers Thiruvanjoor Radhakrishnan, PK Kunhalikutty, Aryadan Muhhamed and PJ Joseph shall be the sub committee members.

He said that he never told the high Court there was a connection between water level rise and breakage of dam. Advocate General appeared before the Cabinet to furnish an explanation on the statements made by him. Besides the AG, Additional Chief  Secretary K Jayakumar, Mullaperiyar Cell Chairman MK Parameshwaran Nair, Head of Disaster Management KB Valsala have also appeared before the cabinet today.
