No failures till 10th standard

new education schemeThiruvananthapuram: Failures shall no longer be the stepping stone to success. Irrespective of how a student performs he/ she will be promoted till completion of 10th standard. E grade shall be scrapped out of the new educational system. From this academic year onwards Kerala state will only witness 100% result in the public exam. Leniency and persistent success irrespective of hardwork or performance shall be the new formula.

The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan has recommended that 100 percent pass should be ensured till completion of 10th standard. This programme has been included as a part of the implementation of the Right to Education Act in the state. The Teachers Association has informed the parents/ guardians of the change in scheme at the PTA meeting.

All pass was initially introduced only in 1st and 2nd standard. Now it will be extended for all classes till 10th standard. Improvement in the regular evaluation programme and teaching practice is also part of the new scheme. The total working days at LP level would be 200 days and 220 days in UP level. 5th standard shall be included in LP section. The new system claims to reduce stress on the students.

With no hurdles to be jumped and no stress to be managed, the government ensures a smooth ride for every school going student. A few other prominent recommendations shall be the establishment of 30 primary and 2 upper primary schools and block resource centres for teacher training at cluster levels.
