Pamolein case:Further investigation to be completed in 6 weeks

Kerala High courtKochi: The state government informed the Kerala High Court that the further investigation into the Palmolein import case would be completed in six weeks time. Meanwhile, advocate Jiji Thomson opposed  Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan’s application before the Kerala High Court seeking to get impleaded in the case.

Advocate general K P Dhandapani informed the High Court that the government would submit the probe report before the Court within six weeks. Six witnesses have been interrogated in connection with the case. The public prosecutor stated that six more people were to be interrogated by the government. Under the given circumstances the case has been postponed for further hearing to October 25.

Senior IAS officer Jiji Thomson, the fifth accused in the case, filed a petition challenging the Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Court order directing further investigation into the case. He stated that the delay in the case was affecting his official life.
