Pillai’s jail term extended by 4 days

r.balakrishna-pillaiThiruvananthapuram: Jailed Kerala Congress (B) leader and former Minister R Balakrishna Pillai has been found to be guilty in connection with the phone controversy and now his jail term has been thus extended for another four days. The state government issued the order based on the report handed over by the Jail welfare officer. Pillai who was to be released on January 4, 2012 will be able to leave prison only on January 6, 2011.

Balakrishnan Pillai who is a undergoing one year imprisonment for his involvement in the Idamalayar corruption case broke the law and had a conversation with the media using his own private mobile phone. As per the report several calls were made in a day from Balakrishnan Pillai’s phone.
