POK High Court Judge shot and injured

POK chief justice Islamabad: The Chief Justice of Pak-occupied Kashmir’s High Court, Ghulam Mustafa Mughal, was shot by an anonymous gunman while he was taking an evening walk at Muzaffarabad. The injured judge was rushed to the hospital.

The Chief Justice was shot while he was on an evening stroll at a university recreation ground, 120 kilometres northeast of the capital Islamabad. The gunman was said to be lurking in the bushes waiting for his prey. The judge is said to have received a bullet in his abdomen region. Mughal, the chief judge at the regional high court, was rushed to a military hospital in Muzaffarabad, where doctors said he was conscious and would be operated upon. His life was not thought to be in danger.

“At the moment, we cannot say whether it’s terrorism or some type of enmity. We have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation,” said police official Riaz Abbasi. The motive behind the attack is still ambiguous.
