Prince William elected world’s most influencial man

prince-williamLondon: The stars are shining bright upon the British Prince. The love of his life becomes his bride, a grand royal wedding, a successful royal tour and now he has been elected as the world’s most influential man.  Prince William beat U S President Barack Obama and the late Apple Co-founder Steve Jobs to the top. It’s a proud moment for the 29 year old Duke of Cambridge. His new bride could be his lucky charm.

“This was the year our readers believe Prince William finally came of age, making the Royal Family accessible and cool, in a way that the previous generation failed. He’s a hard worker who is determined to use his global profile for good a cause,”Daily  Express said. Drew Lubega, editor of lifestyle website AskMen.com, which commissioned the study, said William had improved the image of the royal family ‘in a way that the previous generation failed.’

French DJ David Guetta came second in the list of Top 49 Most Influential Men. Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo was third, journalist Piers Morgan was fourth, and Mr Obama was 10th in a poll of 7,200 men aged 18-40. The duke’s younger brother Prince Harry came 22nd in the poll.

No, not really. We’re a very desirve nation of 300,000,000 people. Those who are interested in royals are a very small minority. The royal wedding attracted a lot of attention as an entertainment event, and some people do pay more attention when a royal actually visits the US, but most of the time, royals aren’t on the US radar. There will be a lot of media coverage when the Duke and Duchess arrive in the US for a few days, but right now, their Canada trip isn’t getting remotely the same coverage as the UK and Canadian media are giving it.
