Sanjeev Bhatt arrest: 7 day custody sought

After conducting searches at suspended IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt’s house for the second time in 24 hours, the police has sought a seven-day judicial custody of Bhatt. Bhatt was produced in court on Saturday after his arrest on Friday.

The face-off between Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and suspended IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt intensified on Saturday with the police conducting a search operation at his residence. Earlier on Saturday, Bhatt’s wife Shweta Bhatt on Saturday alleged that he was under threat and was not being allowed to meet his lawyer. Shweta Bhatt, the wife of the cop, has written a letter to the top cops and senior government officials in this regard.
