Santhosh Madhavan granted bail

santhosh-madhavanThiruvananthpuram: Santhosh Madhavan the Godman convicted of  sexual abuse, pedophilia, molestation and creation of blue films has been granted conditional bail by the Supreme court.  He has been asked to pay a bail bond amount of 50000 rupees.

He would also have to report at the police station once a week. On May 20 2009 the Eranakulam Additional Sessions court found Santhosh Madhavan to be guilty of molesting minor girls. The court sentenced him to 16 years of imprisonment and fine of 2,10,000 rupees was slapped upon him.

The Indian Godman was known under the name of Amritha Chaithanya. His full name is Sree Santhosh Madhava Vidyadhiraja Parama Bhattaraka Swamikal. Santosh Madhavan has been wanted by Interpol since 2004 for fraud committed in United Arab Emirates. A Dubai-based Indian woman, Serafin Edwin, had accused him of cheating her off four lakh dirhams  in 2002.  He got arrested near Cochin on May 18, 2008 for fraud and sexual abuse.
