Shaky future for M Karunanidhi

karunanidhiChennai: After scores of his partymen, looks like it is now the turn of former Chief Minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi to face the heat, for his alleged involvement in land grabbing.The Tamilnadu Assembly today witnessed chaotic scenes after an AIADMK member told the House that the DMK men including former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had involved in land grabbing.

Bringing in a special attention motion, the AIADMK member Vetrivel said former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has been using the land (backyard of Gopalapuram house) belonging to the Corporation illegally from 1967 itself. The then Corporation had given permission to Karunanidhi to use it for Rs 3,250 with the condition that no permanent structure should be built on the land.

Meanwhile, Karunanidhi had said that he wanted to give it back to the Corporation and received the money back too. But he did not give the land.There are also large scale irregularities in the land in which Anna Arivalayam is located. The DMK members who raised objections staged a walkout.
