VK Singh names Tejinder Singh, No mention of bribe amount

VK-SinghNew Delhi: Army chief Gen VK Singh has named retired Lt. Gen. Tejinder Singh in his complaint to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the alleged Rs.14 crore bribe offered to him. Gen Singh in his letter sent to the CBI yesterday said that Tejinder Singh had made the bribe offer to him. However, the Army Chief did not mention the amount he was offered to clear the purchase. Earlier, in interviews given to media outlets Gen Singh had said that he was offered Rs 14 crores. The agency has started examining the complaint received on Friday and may question Lt. Gen.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is not convinced with the letter written by Army Chief General VK Singh and wants more information from him. The CBI will seek further clarification from General Singh on the bribery allegations made by him. No case has been registered yet on the Army Chief’s allegations. The CBI said it may write to the Army Chief or meet him next week seeking more information. General VK Singh had on Friday replied to the CBI and confirmed the bribe offer by a lobbyist to clear the supply of a tranche of sub-standard vehicles for the Army. General Singh also said that he will give more details soon.

Tejinder Singh in connection with the case, they said. Lt. Gen. Tejinder Singh has refuted the allegations. He has also filed a defamation case against the Army chief and other officers.
