VS submits evidence against Pillai in SC

vs-achuthanandanNew Delhi: Kerala Opposition leader VS Achuthananthan submitted before the Supreme Court additional evidences against Balakrishna Pillai to prove that he broke jail rules while he was imprisoned for corruption charges. VS has asked the Supreme Court to cancel Balakrishnan Pillai’s release from jail. The apex court would consider VS Achuthananthan’s petition shall be considered by the court tomorrow.

High Court cell report of use of mobile while in jail, Jail ADGP report, details of Pillai’s mobile phone were the documents submitted for consideration before the Supreme Court. Pillai’s admission into the private hospital is alleged to have been conducted after breaking several jail rules. VS in his petition pointed out that several benefits were granted to him that is generally denied to any convict facing rigorous jail term.

Former Kerala Minister, Balakrishnan Pillai who has been convicted in the Edamlayar graft case had been released from jail, under the cover of granting remission for convicts on the State Formation (Kerala Piravi) Day.The Kerala Congress (b) leader was undergoing one years rigorous imprisonment for corruption.
