VSDP changes stand; No plans to oppose UDF in Neyattinkara by-poll

chennithalaThiruvananthapuram: Vaikundaswami Dharma Pracharana Sabha (VSDP) leader Vishnupuram Chandrashekaran has stated that it would not oppose the UDF in the Neyattinkara by-poll elections. The decision was declared while talking to the media after a meeting with KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala.

He also stated that he has called off the blockade which was planned in protest against the state governments decision of denying ministerial berth to Nadar community while obliging to the Muslim League.  The VSDP had taken a stand to block the Chief Minister Mr Oomen Chandy when he visits Neyyatinkara for campaigning.

“When we spoke to KPCC president he promised to give due consideration to our demands. We have abandoned our plans to oppose the UDF or to block the Chief Minister or other ministers who would be visiting Neyyatinkara for campaigning,” Vishnupuram Chandrashekaran said. VSDP Chairman Vishnupuram Chandrasekharan had earlier said that the UDF will face defeat in the Neyyatinkara bypoll if the demands of the Nadar community including the ministership to Deputy Speaker Sakthan Nadar, are not met before the bypoll. However when asked if the VSDP votes shall be given to the UDF, Mr Chnadrashekar refused to make any statement. He stated that a decision regarding the votes shall be arrived at only after a central committee discussion.
