You can travel without tickets in trains

train-drawingKozhikode: Train commuters can now travel ticketless. Indian railways have declared that passengers need not carry print outs of the tickets that are reserved on-line. Instead a photograph of the electronic slip that appears on the screen can be taken on the mobile phone, laptop or i-pod.

This change is a part of the go green campaign of the Indian railways. According to railway authorities more than 3 lakh people reserve tickets in one day. They hope to conserve nature by doing away with paper tickets. Incase the passenger has no copy of the ticket at all he/she can show his/ her id card and pay a fine of 50 rupees.The railways intend to reduce cost and enhance ease of the passengers.
